Power Bars


Power Bars Recipe

  • Prep: 45 mins
  • Dehydrate: 5 hrs


3 cups rolled Oats, Barley, or Wheat

1 cup Sugar

3 tbsp Water

1/2 cup Nuts of choice

2 1/2 cups Powdered Milk

1/2 pack citrus flavored Gelatin

2 tbsp Honey

1/2 cup Dried Fruit of choice


1Place rolled oats, powdered milk and sugar in a bowl

2Add water to honey and bring to a boil

3Dissolve gelatin in honey and water mixture

4Add dry ingredients and mix

5After mixing well add water a teaspoon at a time until barely moist enough to be molded

6Shape into bars and place on trays

7Place the tray in your Excalibur Dehydrator

8Dehydrate at 155 degree F until hard

The recipe works very well as described. I use a small ice cream scoop and press the bars flat with a fork for uniformity and consistency.

I have two 9 tray excaliburs and I have made these before. As with any recipe, we can add extra nuts and seeds to taste. These are the best.
